Reflection series for Advent 2026
From November 29th, £25 with online material/£30 with printed booklet

Joseph didn’t get an angelic visitation. But, as his carefully laid plans fell apart in front of his eyes, he found himself invited on a greater adventure: to make a home for the Christ-child in a dangerous world. To walk with Joseph is to understand what it means to be faithful when nothing makes sense, to love when the going gets difficult, and to welcome God’s gift — invitations which echo down to us today.
This series features a new audio reflection to listen to for each week in Advent along with a selection of other material to read and ponder. The reflections are designed to create quiet spaces in a busy season, and draw on poetry, art, music, Scripture and other wisdom writing. There is enough material for daily reflections, or you can dip in for longer or shorter periods as time allows. All the printed material (including transcripts of the audio reflections) is available in an attractive A5 booklet (please choose this option when you book).
The Online Retreat Day, A Father’s Heart, on Saturday 28th November, could be a great way to begin your Advent reflections, but also works as a standalone retreat. For those who live close enough, there is an in-person Advent Retreat Day, Welcoming the Christ-child, in Edinburgh on Saturday 5th December.
This retreat is the sister retreat to A Woman with Courage: Through Advent with Mary produced a few years ago. If you feel drawn to explore that, it’s available here.
To book, use the form below or email info@heartinpilgrimage.org.uk. Please book by Monday 24th November to allow for postage of booklets.
No one should be prevented from taking part in this retreat due to cost. If it would be helpful to pay what you can (or pay nothing) please get in touch on info@heartinpilgrimage.org.uk. Any donations received will go towards making the retreat more accessible for others, again, please email for details.
