Many people at different stages of their faith journey find it helpful to meet regularly with a spiritual guide. This is often called Spiritual Direction, though I find “Spiritual Accompaniment” a more comfortable term. In the Celtic tradition, the term is “Anam Cara” – Soul Friend.
A spiritual director is trained to listen to you and help you explore how God is working in your life. It is a safe, welcoming, confidential space in which to explore aspects of your faith journey, however well or badly it might be going. It’s a supportive place to explore decisions you need to make, and sense which direction draws you towards greater fullness of life. It is open to all who feel drawn to explore the spiritual life, wherever they are on the journey, from any tradition or none.
I am happy to offer one-off appointments to explore experiences on a retreat, or the possibility of more regular meetings. If you would like to find out more, contact me on info@heartinpilgrimage.org.uk
Who is the third who walks always beside you? When I count, there are only you and I together But when I look ahead up the white road There is always another one walking beside you... T. S. Eliot, The Waste Land
