Here’s the thing: you didn’t come off a production line, you were hand-made, uniquely crafted. In modern life, we often talk about ourselves as if we were machines. We use words like productivity, down-time, processing and recharging. This reflection series is an invitation to get to know God as craftsman and ourselves as unique and precious.
We will draw on the processes and insights of craftsmanship to understand more about our relationship to the Maker, in whose loving hands we are still being made, expertly fashioned into our unique selves. We will consider Jesus, master-carpenter of Nazareth, and reflect on the wisdom craft can offer us about who we are, and how we live and work in the world.
Each part of this eight-part series begins with a live time and teaching and reflection on Zoom. You will also receive other material, including writing, poetry and images, to dwell on through the rest of the week. All are welcome who feel drawn to deepening their journey with God in this way, however it is helpful if you have a little experience of praying reflectively. Participants should commit to attending as many of the live reflections as possible.
